Chinggis Khaan Statue Half-Day Trip
Day-by-Day Itinerary
Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue
We pick you up from your hotel for the 09:00 or 14:00 departure and drive east to the Chinggis Khaan Equestrian Statue at Tsonjin Boldog, about 55 km and 1 hour on a paved road. Clad in gleaming stainless steel, the 40 m statue is believed to be the tallest equestrian statue in the world. It shows Chinggis Khaan facing east toward his birthplace, at the spot where, according to legend, he found a golden whip, a lucky omen for his future conquests. An elevator takes you up to an observation deck on top of the horse's head, with sweeping views over the steppe, and the building beneath the statue holds interesting cultural and historical exhibits. Explore the observation deck and the exhibits at your own pace; as an option, you can have your photo taken in Mongolian national costume. Then drive back to Ulaanbaatar, about 55 km and 1 hour on a paved road, and we drop you at your hotel. The tour lasts about 4 hours, so the morning departure returns at around 13:00.
